The SVHNS Policy System provides access to policy framework, flowcharts, templates and forms required for the development and review of policies and procedures.

All policy and procedures documents should have an associated literature search to ensure best practice.

Some documents might require a full, detailed search. For example, if you're developing a brand new policy, or reviewing something in a field that has undergone many changes in the past three years. If that's the case, your best option is to fill out the literature search request form and get the SVHS Walter McGrath Library to do your search for you.

NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence - UK) have a very concise writing guide with clear writing rules, recommendations and helpful examples.

The Library's Evidence-based Literature Searching Guide provides information on available resources and where to access these. It also provides guidance on the PICO search process - a technique used in evidence based practice to frame and answer a clinical or health care related question.
